Unauthorized account withdrawals

I was contacted in may 08 by a telemarketer to renew my magazine subscriptions. I agreed. When my bank statement came in june08 i had changed my mind about the renewal.

I called the company number and cancelled the subscription. When my july bank statement came i noticed i had been charged again. I called them again and they confirmed my subscription had been cancelled 18jun08.

They could not give me an answer as to why i was billed again, except that it was probably a mistake and that i would be called back with an explanation. Needless to say I was not called back. I immediately went to my bank and stopped further unauthorized withdrawals from my account.
