Ripoff-unauthorized multiple bank withdrawals, deceptive practice.internet

Internet & Web

It has been over a year since I used AOL as my ISP. I stopped using them as soon as I caught on to their deceptive business practices.

The first sign, AOL made several unauthorized bank withdrawals monthly in different amounts. I called to cancel my AOL account and even though I had all the information; "passwords", "answer to secret question", etc. I was told my husband was the first name on the account (the bank account, not the AOL account) and he would have to cancel. My husband called and cancelled but AOL continued with unauthorized bank withdrawals monthly.

My husband gave AOL authorization for me to deal with this situation. I need to state that I am in no way prejudice as I am a minority but when I called AOL customer service I spent alot of time on the phone with people who could barely speak English and seemed to understand NONE! Hence the deception! I was finally put in touch with a supervisor who could speak and understand English.

I explained the multiple withdrawals, cancellation of the AOL account, continued withdrawals, etc. It was then brought to my attention that AOL had created an account for me themselves. I was very upset and demanded that my money be put back in my account and was told it would be in 3 days. The credit was made
along with more withdrawals.

Guess what? Back to the begining... I call, they tell me my husband is the only one that they can talk to, he gives authorization, no one speaks English, supervisor gives authorization for credit to bank and makes more withdrawals.

Today I will do it again, but this time in a more legal manner!

Yes, I have dealt with the bank (which is another story altogether).
