Blatantly lied about the services they promised to provide and used my credit card information to electronically withdraw funds Pine Brook Colorado

Shops, Products, Services

We recently moved to an area where no cable TV service was offered. The alternative choice was Direct TV or DishNetwork. The number listed in the phone directory DirectTV 800/910-7281 in Cambridge, Ohio, referred us to another number, which referred to another, and so on until we finally connected with a body", instead of a canned message: Rick, 800/910-7281. Located in California. He told me that Direct TV could not provide the channels we wanted and recommeded that we go with DishNetwork, because it would give us the channels and programs that we were interested in, i.E., local channels: Columbus ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, ESPN, Big Ten, etc. To assure me that we really would get those channels, he connected to a 3-way conversation with a representative who in another location who promised that we would get the programs we wanted to watch. I agreed to pay the extra fees to receive those channels.

We agreed upon the DishNetwork, agreed upon an installation date, the installer arrived on time for the installation, I signed the installation release, he left and all was well. Or so we thought.

We discovered that we could access no ABC, CBS, or NBC channels, local (Columbus or Zanesville) or otherwise. NONE! I immediately called the DishNetwork number for an explanation and was told that those channels were unavailable to our area and that they didn't know why we had been told we would have them to watch. To which I replied, "If we can't get those channels that we were promised, just come and take out the dish." The representative told me that I was locked in with a 2 year agreement when I signed the installation release and that we would have to pay for that 2 year agreement. But we hadn't had the DishNetowrk for but about an hour. After multiple phone calls: Matt, at Denver Colorado, 877/815-7186, Account Specialist Jackie, X7T, 888/387-6371, Brittany, M43,800/333-3474, and others, along with much stress and anger, just to get out of the contract so that we could do something else about trying to get some kind of TV to watch, I agreed to send back their equipment and was forced to pay a $240.00 fee (instant withdrawal from my checking account) to get the release from the 2 year contract with DishNetwork I signed at installation on June 3.

We were blatantly lied to, defrauded, and were subjected to many hours of stress, distress and dismay while attempting to resolve the problem.

We feel that we should have the $240.00 returned to us along with an apology and that there should be an enforced law and/or policing to ensure that they nor any other company can do this to anyone else.

Incidentally, I called Verizon who fulfilled my needs for TV viewing in this area by installing DirectTV.
