Added charge from ILD on my AT&T bill

I received a $8.43 charge from ILD who was billing for MYBILLINGGUYS. Llc. It was for a voicemail setup fee. I did not ask for this service. I called the toll free number on my bill and told the person who answered the phone, that I did not ask for this service. She said that I had taken a survey online and I agreed to have this service. I did not. She said she would credit my AT&T bill with the charge and put a block on my number.
I called AT&T to make sure this was being done and I was told that ILD cannot credit your bill. They can only charge you. I thought I had a block on my AT&T account for third party billing (I had this happen a long time ago). But, I have since found out, that AT&T only puts a 90 day block on your phone. You would have to call in every 90 days to make sure this kind of thing doesn't happen.

I have since canceled my AT&T account and I am going to put a block at my bank on any charges that they try to bill me just in case ILD tries to bill me for more charges.

This company comes up all over the place as a disreputable business. Why can't something be done about their unsavory practices? I also think that AT&T should take some responsibility for this by allowing people to put permanent blocks on their phones once it starts to happen. I have read that these third party companies are making a whole lot of money off of unsuspecting people. The lesson here is to check all of your phone and cell phone bills carefully for suspicious charges.
