3rd Party Billing Ripoff Los Angeles California

On Sept 2 I noticed a charge on my telephone bill for something called, "Jungle Mail". I called at&t about this and was told that this was some type of voicemail service. I told them that I had not authorized this charge and that I wanted it removed immediately from my bill. I was informed that I would have to contact the company myself as California law did not allow at&t to remove the charge and that my only option to stop the $26.68 setup fee and 12.95 monthly charge would be to cancell my telephone service. She suggested that I call the FCC and complain but did not provide me with a telephone number.

Thanks to the other post I see on this ripoff by att, I now have the number and will be calling to file a complaint. I will also call att again to see if I can get them to stop these charges since I now know they can and attempt to put a block on my phone whereby services cannot be added without my prior authorization (the other rep said that this could not be done). I think the California Attorney General needs to look into this ripoff.

At&t and these phoney companies are probably making millions off people when in these economic hardtimes people are barely able to pay legimate charges. I always pay my bill on time but cannot afford to pay for these ripoff schemes. Everyone check your bill and get the telephone numbers from the other post call and complain. What a ripoff
