Ripoff, left my stuff (30 boxes) in middle of the road, very rude, unprofessional, cheaters

I looked at craigslist for moving from home (2 bedroom) from Fremont to Newark. I found continental express and called them for a quote. After discussing they sent me a confirmation email Ref # 21284 for 2 Movers & Truck @ $70 Per Hour.

On the day of the move, these guys came 30 mts late and instead of 2 movers, they were 3. I thought one of them was a supervisor or something and other 2 were movers. They started to look at my stuff and then got lot of pages of some contract. I was reading and signing the pages one by one until i saw a page according to which besides $90 per hour, they were planning to charge about $40 for tv, $40 for each lamp (i had 4), about $30 or $40 for each glass. Even for mattress they were going to charge $18. I told them this is a ripoff and i won't sign that page.

I have moved 2-3 times in last 4 yrs in bay area and no body asks for this extra charges besides the $70 or $90 per hr charge of the movers. Also, i realized that they had sign me a contract for 3 movers at the rate of $90 per hour. I immediately said it was cheating and won't sign the contract. I was so angry that i called 911 and asked the cops to come over. Later i realized that it is a civil matter so called 911 again and asked them not to send the cops.

The movers left my stuff in the middle of the road and started smoking and shouting at me in some language i could not understand. They gave me a cell phone and there was a person on the phone who said this is the law and if i want to move my tv, mattress or glass i have to pay extra. Then one of their movers said, we will not charge for the mattress but for tv, 4 glasses and 4 lamps i still have to pay about $200-250 extra.

I told them this is cheating, ripoff and this is not what i was expecting. I told their supervisor that i don't want their service and they can go back. I moved all my stuff from the road to my garage which broke my back. Then they threatened me that i have to pay $270. I was shocked that what do i need to pay them for. They gave me a phone and that person said he will take money from my credit card without my authorization. I told him this is totally unlawfull and if you charge me i will dispute that charge.

Then one of the mover came and told me they are calling the cops. I said to myself, what a day. They called the cops and the cop asked me what happened. After hearing my side of the story, cop gave me an advice to write a complain against them and said this was a civil matter and he could only advice and he told me to look for complains against this company.

The movers went back but i am very very dissapointed with them and would like to file charges againt them. I had to call my frnds to help me to move to the new place since all my stuff was on the road and i had to vaccant my apartment. I would say this is the worst moving company and they must be shutdown by law agencies asap.
