Phone scam deceptive company rip-off deceptive company

After carefull considerdation and advice from family members, I called IDT Co. To transfer my local and long distance service.

I asked how much for local calls, long distance, and a particular city in another country.

I was told my local calls were free, long distance state to state was 5 cents and my international rate would be 29 cents a minute.

I was told that for the local and in country long distance service I would be charged $3.95 and for the international plan an additional $2.00 fee.

I left the customer service rep. On hold while I called my husband, and we agreed with each other to switch.
So I get back on the line with the IDT rep. And set up an account.

Then, The customer rep. Tells me to stay on hold so a verifier can verify the information.

The verify asks if I understand that I will Be paying 5.9 cents a minute for in country long distance, 10 cents a minute for all local calls and 29 cents for the city in the other country, I TELL HIM NO, that is not my understanding, I was just told it would be FREE local calls, and 5 cents per minute for all in country long distance calls.

This guy tells me the following, I am sorry, I can not CHANGE or cancel your order. I tell him I am not agreeing to it and I do not want the service because I was lied to and misled. He tells me, I can't help you, proceeds to say a number and says call them if you have questions about your plan, and hangs up on me.

Now I've had to put a freeze on my telephone services for local and long distance, so I am not switched, in which the freeze will not go into affect until after midnight, In which it is only the middle of the afternoon right now, and hope and pray that my service is not switched.

IDT has contactors that work with them and obviously, the so called customer service reps. Are nothing more than boiler room type telemarketers.
