Extremely mislead product content/service Internet

Net Detective is a self-help background checking service. They advertise complete indepth checking reports on individuals. After purchasing this service on-line w/credit card, I submitted all information on myself. I am a U.S. Citizen, born and raise, never lived outside of U.S., but Net Detective could not find a listing for me after three attempts. I submitted my father's name (same U.S. Status) and all I recieved was his name and address. The web site then suggests that I purchase another phase or level of investigation, which I would not do. I emailed the company at hdpublishinggroup.com and requested an immediate refund/credit (They have a 90 day refund warranty), and the response was they were sorry and would like to offer 2 months of free service to one of their addition phase or level services. I did not reply back, and have not recieved a credit as requested. Please advise all shoppers to investigate well known sources before making a purchase to this type of scam sales. I did not search well and paid the price of ignorance thru my credit card.
