False Deceptive Advertising to the Elderly and Parents Not Licensed Not Bonded Not Insured

This is a small company who offers Companion Service, Babysitting and Child Care Services, in home or for visitors in hotels, Home Care and Companionship,

Maintenance & Cleaning, Miscellaneous Services. The owner who professes to have been in business for 23 years, in Saint Petersburg, Florida advertises in many local publications and her website as Licensed, Insured, Bonded.

Upon answering an ad for employment by her company, I was asked to sign papers agreeing that ONLY SHE The Owner is insured, licensed and bonded. She then produced a file full of papers for me to sign, that would absolve her of any responsibility to her clients, or to me, if she sent me out to their home to clean, transport, babysit, etc, the paying clients or the employee (actually an independent contractor) is covered by nothing.

Generally the gist of the file of papers was a legal nightmare for the hired independent contractor. Example: a paper supplied in multiple for me to have signed by a client needing transport to grocery, or doctors appointments, meant that they acknowledge that they would not sue Me, the driver if an accident occurred.

One other, paper instructing the Florida law regarding requirement of Commercial license to transport for hire. But told me in verbal statements that you don't need this. Also not to tell your auto insurance company that you were providing this services.

To make a long story shorter, she told me several hotels would not use her babysitters because she could not provide insured sitters. This is not something the general public could know however especially since her ads all say licensed bonded insured!

She also stated that none of her contractors have purchased any insurance, or bonding, and that if I was asking these questions I must be negative and maybe should not work for her.
