Miscellaneous

May 07, I hired CCR Construction, the contract states BONDED AND INSURED, and the "contractor Ray Najera" stated he was bonded and insured and that he would have a minimum of 4 men working to remove popcorn finish off the cieling and retexture. I paid $1650.00 and was to pay the remainder upon completion

Contractor failed to cover furniture or any surrounding until I complained about the debris and damage it was doing to my furniture. On May 18, the job performed below acceptable standard, but at this point I was becoming increasingly wary of the Contractor and the people he was contracting to do the work. After I had paid the balance by check, I began to look around the house and cleaning up all the mess that he failed to clean up. It was then that I noticed a small box sitting on top of my dresser had to been tampered with and when I opened the box it was empty of my valuables. It was filled with debris from the ceiling. I then called the Contractor and after much bantering he admitted that he had hired an illegal immigrant from Mexico and that he was more than likely the person who stole from my home.

I have filed a claim with my insurance company. This contractor falsified his credentials and stated he was bonded and insured. When I asked for his mailing address, bond number and insurance he was unable to provide and he began making accussations that I was just trying to give him problems.

It was then that I called my bank and stop payment on the check for the final payment. I know this contractor is misrepresenting, falsifying and hiring illegal workers, and not supervising the help resulting in theft.
