Rip Off America - Once you sign you can't cancel, even if you send it to them in writing

This company will not let you cancel. I signed a 3 year contract - I sold my house 6 months before the contract ended. I was told that I could not cancel at that time. I could put in a request to cancel and that the contract would cancel 6 months later when the full 3 years was complete. They offered to monitor my new residence (which already had a hard wire system in place) for the remainder of the contract (6 months). However - 6 months later - they said oh no - we have no record of your cancellation, we just processed a transfer of your service. Oh, and by the way because your contract renewal date was seven days ago - you owe us for an additional year! Dispite the fact that thier programmer cancelled / unprogrammed the system and there was no way they could monitor the system for an additional year!!! Fortunately - I cancelled the credit card account they had access to, to that they could not continue to bill me. They instead are still trying to collect for the additional year!!! This company is a rip off. They try to slam customers into contracts after customers cancel. I wish an attorney would sue pick up a class action lawsuit against this company - They are doing the exact same thing AOL was in the recent lawsuit that was filed and won against them. They continue to bill customers and create collection accounts against customers After the cancel!!!
