Water heater install ripoff

I bought a water heater from Lowes, needed a 75 gal which they didn't have. I replaced it with a 50 gal instead. Lowes charged 460.00 for the install which included removal of the old heater. They said they could do it that day. The installer called and said he would be there at 1:00 P.M. At 4:30 he showed up and said he would charge another 380.00 for the removal of the old heater and rerouting of old lines. The time now is 5:00PM and I could not be without hot water for another day. Total cost of installation now is 840.00. I had no choice but to continue the install. The installation was complete 6:15 PM. The water heater located in the Garage was very easy to remove and load onto a pickup 10 feet away.

Lowe's charges 460.00 for the install which should include hooking up the pipes again to the new heater. No rerouting of old pipes just a plain simple hookup.
I contacted another plummer and had him look at it and he said the total job should have been 350-400 for the total job.

This is a total ripoff from Lowe's.

Last month I spent 10,000 dollars on appliances which I did not have them install. I contacted an independent which he also installed for Lowe's and home Depot. He did the complete install for one half of the install Lowe's charges.

Customer relations was very rude and did not care if I went elsewere for further business.

I will never step foot in another Lowe's for any business. Home depot will be my store from now on.
