Dangerous bunk beds purchased for my preschoole

My husband and I purchased a set of bunk beds for my preschooler (at the time). When he climbed on top, the slats holding it up broke. They flipped down slicing into the wall only inches from another child. I can only imagine what could have happened to her had it hit her head (it took a chunk out of the wall). We called to have them fix it (since it was under warranty). They "fixed" it and it happened again. I called and they gave me the run around. I called wolfs, they did nothing. I called the Better Business Bureau and that finally got Wolfs attention and they called me. They offered to SELL me some bunky boards so the beds would be sturdier. I explained to the man that I would never go out and buy a new car without the brakes. What he was asking of me was absurd! I bought those beds with the understanding that they were safe the way they were sold. If they knew they needed bunky boards to make them safe, they should have added them into the price. The slats continue to break and luckily my husband is a "handy-man" and does a good job fixing it. We have continued to call wolf and they would say it was no longer under warranty (even though I have the sales receipt saying that it was). We just decided to give up the fight. Needless to say, the beds are separated and the children are no longer able to use them as bunk beds (as was originally intended). I am furious that I paid for beds that were defective. I'm just thankful that no child died. I'm hoping that no other child gets injured.
