Prepared home for sale - did not pay - $ 25,000

Approximately two (2) years ago Ed Guss wanted to sell his home in Chicago. He contacted me and asked if I would prepare the home for sale. The state of the property was sad, almost all the home was in some state of repair. He (Ed) said to do whatever was necessary to get it done.

The home needed drywall repair, we added a bath on the second floor, carpeted the second floor, repaired drywall seams throughout the house, sanded and painted the whole house, finished electric work that was partially done, rebuilt the back porch, redid the kitchen and back room, stripped all the trim on the first floor, stained and reinstalled. Cleaned and painted the basement. Finished the electric in the garage and other numerous tasks. The cost for all this, including materials was about $ 30,000. Ed paid $ 4,500 at the beginning but then kept stalling on payments, finally saying he would pay once the property sold.

I really had no choice at the time and agreed - stupid me - the property sold in May. I have yet to see any money - Ed Guss won't even return my calls.

No one should do any business with Ed, he is a liar and a cheat.
