Rent a center, do not work with this center, they will rip you off! Your problem is not their problem!

Upon entering this local rent a center, you are greeted with kind, friendly staff who is eager to help you. I like to go in and purchase gently used merchandises at the 90 days same as cash. I had worked with another center before rent-a-center took over that I liked real well. I purchased three tables, a large TV hutch and a wide screen TV.

Upon delivery I noticed that I did not have all of the parts for the hutch. The pegs were missing for the glass shelving. No big deal, I would get them later. The staff at Rent a center told me several times that it would be ordered and I would get them soon. I never received them and gave up asking. Then I found that the TV was not working right with the remote that was given to me and we did not know how to work the TV w/o the remote. We had to wait for a new remote to be ordered and we were also given an owners manual THREE months after the delivery was made. Until then, we just had to make due.

Since the items were used, I opted to get the insurance that is sold to us when the contract was made. Thank goodness this was done because no sooner did I make the last payment on the TV, the picture went out. I called to have the TV serviced. After two weeks with no TV, it was returned to us. As the brought the TV in I noticed that the casing on the TV was cracked on the side from what appeared to be straps that holds the TV in place transporting. I was very upset with this as I had just paid it off and now there was noticeable damage to the TV frame. We went back and fourth for 4 months of who was going to fix it.

I provided pictures of the damage, made several phone calls, invested my time in trying to just get it fixed. I did not want anything more than that. Finally I was told that it would be picked up on Jan. 9th 2008 for repair on the case. We took the whole afternoon off once again and waited. They never showed up! I couldn't believe it. Once again they had fooled me into thinking something was going to be done to buy some time.

I called the store manager Brian and left a message. He called back stating that this was not his problem, that he was just a middle man (who had taken my money for the insurance on this TV for two years!) and that I may want to go ahead and get a lawyer. If we had taken the TV back with this damage, there is no way that he would have been so nonchalant about the damage, that is for sure. Now, I do not want repair, I want a new TV or my money back! We shall see. Do not rent from these people or you too will be sorry!!!
