Rent A Center
I would not tell anyone to apply for this jo

Omg! I was also a victim of rent a center. I started rent a center Feb. 23 2006 and quit in Aug. When I first apply for this job, I applied on line and seriously wasn't looking to be call back the very next day for an interview. Then I got hired 2 days later. Anyways, the 1st store that i was at was very cool and laid back. I had a wonderful manager and coworkers. The only complaint I had about that store is working 9am to 10pm and only getting paid from 9am to 7pm. (i didn't find that out until after i got transfer)

2 months later, I got transfer to a different store. It was a cool store EXPECT, the store manager was never at the store. He had different women coming in every day looking for him. He was always in his office sleep, or he was out getting his hair cut or something to that sort (if you catch my drift)

Anyways, it was cool until one day they fire the manager and transfer my old CO work from my old store as the new store manager. I tho it was go be fun cause we already knew each other and work together. Boy o Boy was I wrong. But to make a long store short. He changed. One day he send me to pick up the most heaviest bed room set that rent a center ever had, and the worst part of it. The A-holes at the other store didn't even help me put the bedroom set on the truck, so there for I pulled a muscle in my back (which I still have problems with after a year), and again making me work OFF THE CLOCK.

They put me on "LIGHT DUTIES" (yea right) so they decide to transfer me to a different store so they say to help out. My back was in so my pain from them making me push couches and move washing machines that the very next day I went to my own doctor and he put me on bed rest for 5 days. Then they later try to accuse me saying that I hurt my back on my day off. And to top it off They of accuse me of stealing a piece of sh* laptop. That's when I had the last straw. I Found me a BETTER JOB and quit all together.

Man I would never ever ever advise no one to work at rent a center. I rather work at Mc Donald's as a fry cook than to have to deal with RENT A CENTER and be mistreated as an empolyee. I WOULDN'T EVEN RENT ITEMS from rent a center. Frankly I think they should go bankrupt.
