Promises FALSE! Left My Elderly Father Without Phone For Help Promised $24.99 mo., included additional charges, foreign reps selling more services than to fix problems!

My elderly father who has medical problems signed up for Vonage's $24.99 per month. He was to keep his original phone number. Vonage took his number but then wanted to charge additional fees for additional services he did not want. They would not give him his service back nor hook him up because he refused to get the additional services. They did not try to communicate to fix the problem either. The communication was entirely with foreign reps who do not speak English so my father could not understand them nor could he hear them well. Again, all they tried to do was sell him more services! They were not cooperative, nor did they try to assist in any way. They are charging my father additional funds along with my father's old phone company who is charging him almost $100.00 to get his phone number back and to re-hookup his phone but that won't occur until the end of December or the beginning of January because Vonage won't release my father's previous number until he pays their increased billing! My father has been without a phone for two weeks especially during our past storm and his continuing medical conditions. My brother has been on the phone continuously, sometimes eight hours a day in making phone calls to the many phone numbers Vonage/Vonex has passed on to him. This company is definitely out to soak anyone who comes into their lair as prey. BEWARE!!! They do not speak any English, they plead ignorance in speaking English, they ignore any questions and are only programmed to sell, not serve, not please, not remedy. Beware!!!
