7/27 Product ordered $439.88, not shipped, 8/10 order cancelled, was never credited $439.88

An electronic dog door was ordered on 8/27. The product did not ship in 10 days so on 8/10 the order was cancelled and Stan at Americas Pet Store said he would credit my credit card $439.88. I have made 3 calls so far and as of 9/19 no credit has been made. It just does not seem possible that a company can keep your money and not deliver the product ordered.
