Deceptive Business Practice ripoff

Shops, Products, Services

I ordered glasses (through regular, not rush service) and paid $223.00. Based on this price and no disclosure to the contrary, I believed I was purchasing new frames.

What I received was warped, aged frames and lenses that had small cracks around the edges. I questioned the manager (who was willing to correct the problem) as to how new frames could ever get in such poor condition and discovered that I was sold display and/or used frames. Reports to two higher level management officials revealed this to be the business practice of Eyemasters, i.E. Not to disclose (orally or by notation on the receipt) that display/used frames are being sold to customers who have selected lenses from a display and believe they are purchasing new (as in never displayed or possessed) frames.

These two managers also offered to replace the glasses, but I opted not to do business where what I describe as deceptive business practices are sanctioned.
