Fraudulently trying to collect on a PAID account Ripoff

Palisades is trying to collect $83 on an account that was paid in full back in 2003. The original creditor is Verizon, the land-line phone company in service in northwest Washington state.

We moved from the area in June of all accounts including this Verizon account was PAID IN FULL. Upon contacting Verizon in WA state, they showed our account had been paid completely. This information can be verified.

Palisades has never contacted me. I found out about this fraudulent collection action when I was applying for a mortgage loan. It was on my credit report. I wrote to Palisades, asking them to verify this debt in writing, they never responded. I told them that they had 30 days to verify this debt and remove it completely from my credit report. Neither was done. They neither verified this debt and this continues to be listed on my credit report.
