Movex
Movex, unreliable and will damage, loose your property

Hello everyone.

I too used Movex. I contracted them to move me from Michigan to NC.in the beginning it was fine. I had a contract for 10 linear feet of space to use with a quote of only $1415. This was more than half of what it would cost to put my belongings in storage for two weeks and then to move ourselves after from Michigan to North Carolina.

Unlike with others they did arrive on time and picked up the truck ontime. 10 days after the pick up of the truck were were contacted by Customer Service stating that we went over our alotted space on the truck and they wanted an additional $1000 for the space used before they would deliver our property. We ended up dealing with Rob Isler, Dir of Operations of the Northdale Blvd office. We agreed once we arrived in North Carolina that we would go to Yellow Transportation to inspect the truck. We found that it was obvious that someone moved our dividing wall. My husband is 6ft tall and had placed the wall supports and neck level and hip level. Not only was the wall leaning forward with obvious damage to our belongings but the wall supports were at belly button level and ankle level and the support tightening clamps were on opposite sides.

We contacted Rob to inform him of this. We stated that the wall must have fallen in transportation and that they would clear the overage charges and deliver our truck as soon as possible. When it arrived I signed the release as delivered with consealed damaged and suggested by Rob Isler.

After unloading the truck I again tried multiple times to contact Rob with no luck. Finally 8 days later we mailed me out the claim for. It arrived to Movex 7/08/06.in the claim we noted the damage to our living room set, entertainment counsel, kitchen table and many other large household items. To top everything off I was 3 months pregnant with our second child during all of this. I was so excited to arrive in our new home and set up the babies room. To our surprise, all but 2 of my baby boxes were missing.

To date, I have yet to receive any form of communication from Movex regarding my claim. WHen I contracted them I was unaware of their subcontract with Yellow transportation as the trucking company. Apparently my claim is with Yellow and not Movex as Movex did NOTHING in aid of my move. I am confident I will never see my refund nor any of my missing baby memories from my first child.
