Selling sick animals and won't reimburse vet costs under Lemon Law

On May 9th, myself and my fiance purchased a dog from The Pet Company store located in Bayshore. Upon purchase, we were informed that we had within 14 days to take the animal to the vet for a checkup. On May 17th, our vet discovered that our dog might have a contagious skin disease known as ringworm. Pending test results, the dog might be deemed unfit for sale as according to the pet Lemon Law of New York.in the meantime, our vet wrote a letter informing The Pet Company of the situation, which we in turn submitted to the store.

When the results came back, the tests came back positive for ringworm. As instructed by The Pet Company, we submitted all the bills and letters including an unfit for sale letter to the store and they would fax those letters and bills to their corporate office. We were told that we would be reimbursed for all vet costs within 6-8 weeks.

We are now going on 12 weeks since that time and I have received nothing. I filed a complaint to the store and have repeatedly called their customer service department where I constantly get voicemail. I have left all my contact information for someone to get back to me and no one has bothered to settle this situation. We were sold a sick dog and The Pet Company is in violation of the New York State Pet Lemon Law. We are out to date over $300 in vet bills and just want to be reimbused. Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated.
