Store sold me a sick puppy

I purchased a puppy Mar14th from this pet store 2 days later he fell extremely ill I contacted the store he disconnected his phone. I drove to his store and the store was closed and the inside looked to be empty. I finally was in touch with him after calling for several days and since my animal was under warranty I wanted him to take the puppy to his vet and get him better he agreed then called me and said he could not take the puppy back. He said he would be in touch which he never was. I footed the bills and had my puppy at my vets and. I was contacted by animal welfare and they pulled his records because he sold more sick pups to others. I have vet bills and the cost of the pup which state law says he should reimburse me 1/2 the cost of vet bills and the puppy cost.
