My cell phone service was suspended 2 years ago by Verizon wireless with no warning. I had just notified customer service to change the billing credit card two months prior to this. I paid the amount requested which restored service. I was informed of a debt by a collection agency a year later.

Verizon customer service was unresponsive to any detail on this debt or actually that there was a debt. I renewed my contract with Verizon several months after the incident and The reseller could not find any credit problem.

Two years later I bought a new phone and made it plain several times I did not want a new contract. I recently found I was deceived when I got the new phone and signed a new contract. Meanwhile I still have collectors calling me about the previous contract and I am still a customer. Verizon apparently either lost or destroyed the records.
