LA Times and the Daily News newspapers
Unsolicited Newspaper subscriptions and bills

In January of this year I got a bill from the LA Times for a weekly newspaper delivery of their paper with my son's name on the bill. Not sure as to why my son, who does not live here, would order the paper (other than a phone solicitor) I went ahead and payed it for him since he had moved to another town in another county. The paper was to be delivered on Sundays only for $2.00 every 4 weeks.

Today I received a bill from the Daily News newspaper with my father-in-laws name on it for Sunday's only for 1 years subscription at $23.92.

As fate would have it, My son showed up at my door the same time the mail came and it reminded me of the LA Times bill, (of which I have continued to pay every 4 weeks since they were deliverying the paper every Sunday)! Now, I've tried to get the LA Times to stop delivering the paper to no avail. So I asked him why he had ordered the paper? He said he had never ordered the paper and that he didn't know what I was talking about. So I contacted my father-in-law and asked him about the Daily News subscription and he said he had no idea what was going on because he had never even read the paper. Oh! By the way! He lives in the state of Oregon.

So, I guess I'm in for a fight with 2 newspapers to cancel subscriptions. I'd like to know how they got my Father-in-law's and son's names and connected them with my address.

Does anyone else seem to be having this problem of un-solicited newspaper subscriptions and bills?
