Elite Waste & Recycle of Monument, CO, A trash removal service that served the northern El Paso county and Colorado Springs, decided to stop picking up their 4700 customer's trash in mid-June.

Outwardly, this company appears to have fallen on hard times, but, for months, they insisted on customers paying up-front for a year of service, and apparently were still charging yearly fees only a week before they went under. Surely they must have known at that time they were in trouble. Hmmm, A years fees for a week of service, sounds crooked to me.

Also it would be honest of a company to warn it's customers that they are going out of business, especially a trash company, because the crap really piles up fast. But wait, that would mean you would have to give the people back their money for the service you didn't provide, instead of just keeping it!

To add insult to injury, Elite put a smart-ass message on their answering machine, "We don't give a damn about your business because we are going out of business, so quit calling and leaving messages". Nice, real classy.

Well I've got something classy to say to the owners of Elite, Mike Marante and Doug Smith. You two are either dishonest, or stupid, or some combination of the two. Either way, I hope the El Paso county D.A. Gives you what you deserve. Maybe you'll go to jail, and have happen to you, what you did to 4700 customers.
