We had Vonage service for a few months. Every time we would have a storm and lose power, we also lost Vonage. You then have to call them on your cell phone and stay on the phone with extremely rude customer service people for at least an hour while they have you changing your ip address, change the settings in the computer and when all else fails, they will transfer you to someone else (with at least a 10 minute wait until the next person answers) who then have you going thru the same thing all over again.

After 2 hours of using my cell phone minutes and still having no home phone, I told them to disconnect my service. Again, the customer service person was very rude and told me I would be charged $39.99 for the disconnect fee. I told them that they should then pay my cell bill for using so many minutes. She hung up and immediately charged my credit card.
