Beware Of Signing On With Vonage - All Contracts Are 2 Years! Terrible service, expensive disconnect fees and other hidden charges India India

Please beware of signing on with Vonage. I signed up 6 months ago and the phone line had a really terrible connection. I was dropping calls (not good if you're working from home) and sometimes the person on the other line just couldn't hear me. I checked to see if it was my phone but it wasn't. I tried calling customer support for assistance and that turned out to be a terrible ordeal. You have to wait on hold for 30 minutes before getting transferred to a support agent in India who doesn't care if your service works. Needless to say, my phone line never improved.

I called to cancel my service and they made me listen for 15 minutes to all their alternative options before even acknowledging that I didn't want the service. Once I finally convinced them that I wasn't going to continue using them, they were rude and said I would have to pay $119 to disconnect. Apparently there is a $39 disconnect fee (whatever, I thought that was somewhat reasonable) but then you also have to pay $80 for the piece of crap equipment they sent you that never worked. I told them I would happily send it back but this wasn't an option. They said that even if I sent it back I would be charged the $80 for the equipment. The box they sent me wouldn't be worth even $30 new but now I'm stuck with it.

Please be very careful before signing on with Vonage. They do not value customer service or quality of product.
