A Better Choice Movers
A total scam! Consumer fraud!

(1) Movers claimed to arrive at 11am, doorman, garage attendant AND employee of company (Lisa) said they did not arrive until after 11:20am - of course I was charged for this.

(2) Driver received a $115 ticket because he did not speak English and when a police officer asked him to move, he did not - another expense I was charged.

(3) Was charged for an extra hour while driver was lost - I had to navigate and give directions.

(4) Was charged for packing materials I specifically told the drivers NOT to use. He claimed he had to use these materials even though I had already signed a waiver protecting them from damage if things were unwrapped.

(5) Contract says (and I was told) AMEX is accepted, but at time of payment - they told me the contract was "old" and they no longer accepted AMEX. Paid cash for entire move in order to receive the rest of my furniture (they threatened to hold it in storage at my cost if bill was not paid and furniture was not unloaded by 9pm).

(6) They tried to charge me $150 per flight of stairs - NOWHERE does it state this in the contract, and reservationist did not include in the quote.

(7) Was not informed I would be charged travel time - hours were written in AFTER contract was already signed. (extra $140)

(8) Tried to arrange a meeting to civilly negotiate and was told that reservationist could attend. Once cash was given, the mover told us she would not be able to attend.

(9) Mike Rezmak (manager) was completely rude and unwilling to negotiate a single thing, INCLUDING THE TICKET WE WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR!!!

(10) We finally called the cops and they agreed we were not responsible for the ticket and other charges not listed in the contract, but ultimately said it was a civil case, so we're suing for consumer fraud.

(11) Today I requested a copy of additional papers I had signed via fax, but was ignored. Called to request an invoice number and papers, but was hung up on 3 times.
