Moving with this company was an extremely terrible experience. It could not have gone any worse, from the time the picked up my things, to the time they dropped it off.

I moved from TX to NY which I was quoted as taking 10 - 14 days max, it took 1 month exactly to the day. Before we even got started they called me and said they were going to be a day late picking my things up, a major inconvenienc considering I had planned on that day with time off work.

When they came to pick up my things, they did not even have enough materials to pack my things, even after I told them about every single piece in my bedroom. I had to fill out TONS of paperwork which was forced down my throat so they could quickly leave. Very impersonal and unattentive. When they left my house, they left all their tape rolls, extra wrapping, box pieces and shoe marks all over my floor. The left a deep cutting scratch in the wook floor about 4 feet long, unfixable.

I waited for 2 weeks without hearing a word from Moving Star California. They told me they would give me a 4 day delivery window, but they were already at thier 2 week thresh hold, so I knew something was wrong. I called them and they said the dispatcher would contact me right away, never did.

I called them back 4 times for 2 consecutive days with no word from the dispatcher. I finally called them and told them that I wanted the dispatchers personal number so I could call him directly. I finally got in touch with him 3 days after I started calling, and when I spoke with him, he had absolutely no idea what was happening or where my stuff was. He said they had a problem with one of the trucks but could not tell me any more details? This is ALL my personal belongings here.

OK, so here I am without any of my stuff, on hold from the dispatcher who says they will call me back and let me know a delivery time. A week goes by and I hear nothing so I decide to call someone higher up in the company. Josh was his name. He was rude in every word out of his mouth, unknowledgeable, and tried to make it seem like it wasn't thier problem when I started talking about a refund.

We are already into complete service failure time and they told me that my delivery was going to cost $1200 more than they quoted me. So on top of being late, rude, and making my house dirty at the pickup, they wanted to double the amount they were charging me. Josh said the only thing he could do was give me $150 off my final price. My original quote was for $1208, a reasonable deal for TX to NY. The final price ended up being $2850. $2850 so they could deliver every single thing I owned late and broken. Here is $150?? What a joke

Ok so now the delivery.instead of giving a 4 day window, I was given a 24 hour window, and they wanted to deliver on Saturday.in my building in NY you can't do that, you can only deliver on Week days. So when I told them they couldn't do that they had to wait till Tuesday since it was presidents day.

They finally show up Tuesday, a month late and start delivering my stuff, as they are bringing boxes in, every single one is damaged and a few are completely destroyed! Things inside the boxes were broken and I could see kick marks on the boxes, some with foot holes. There was tape directly on my real wood furniture which when peeled of left marks all over it. Lampshade destroyed, nicks on every single piece of furniture, and THEY LOST THE GLASS to my bedside table!

The movers wouldn't even look me in the face, and wanted to leave as fast as possible. Didn't even want to talk to me. So I called Moving Star again and wanted to talk to someone higher than Josh. The lady I spoke with, Anna I think, was unbelievably rude and did not believe a word I said and didn't even want to hear it. Tried to discount every thing I told her, tried to justify thier service failure, and this is the best part. They were a month late, and on the Saturday delivery that they "planned" in that 24 hour time window fell through, they had to put my things in storage.

Moving Star tried to tell me that they "wouldn't charge me for keeping it in storage" as a favor to me!!! OMG I could not believe it. They were going to charge me $80 a day to store my stuff because they were late! Unacceptable.

So now 2 months have passed since they picked up my things in TX and I just got a call saying they found my glass. After countless phone calls, everyone I dealt with was rude, unknowledgeable and unattentive. Never Use Moving Star California! If you value your things NEVER USE MOVING STAR CALIFORNIA.

To Summarize:
-They arrived late and unprepared for the pickup.
-They misquoted my moving price by a HUGE amount to get my business, then jacked up the price right before delivery. Wouldn't deliver my things until I paid them in cash.
-Every person I dealt with was rude, unattentive to my needs, and unknowledgable (when I did get in touch with people)
-It took 1 month to deliver my things
-Everything that arrived was either completely destroyed, marked up, bent, crushed, or chipped.
-They lost a large piece of glass to my bedside table
-The movers were rude, they stunk and were clueless about anything other than what was on thier truck.
-They left garbage all over the hallway in my new apartment building.
