Uhaul At Fisher Towing
Uhaul - ripoff deceitful, unbelievable to change my reservation and still expect me to pay for the differece

I was moving out of my apartment in Everett Washington and I made a reservation on-line with UHaul for a truck about three weeks before I needed the truck. I even paid a five dollar fee on a credit card to confirm the reservation. The truck was supposed to be at the Everett location which was about two minutes away from my apartment.

A few days before I needed the truck, I get an e-mail and a phone call that tell me that the Everett location is overbooked and don't have a truck for me, but that they were able to change my reservation to Monroe Washington. Now this is about 40 miles away from where I live. But I figure that at least I still have a truck.

After a long day of driving to ship my vehicle, pick up rental vehicles, etc. My family drives out to Monroe and goes to Fisher's Towing to pick up the truck. After some confusion about a credit card and deposit I am ready to sign for the truck.

I look at the invoice and see the. 99 cents a mile and it reminds me to ask him about it. I ask if I am allowed a certain amount of miles to get to Everett and back or if I have to go to the Everett store and they will write down the milage and then charge me from there until I go back to write down the end milage before driving it back to Monroe. The guy laughed at me!!! He said "Uh no, it's just. 99 cents a mile."

I explain that that is going to cost me almost 80.00 just to get it Everett and back and why should I pay, when UHaul changed the reservation, etc. Never mind the inconvenience of driving all the way out there instead of two minutes down the road!

He just said Oh well, if you want the truck you pay the miles. So we decided not to take the truck. I am not paying that much money because they overbooked the one close to me and then change the reservation without asking AND make me drive all the way out there to get it! If I had known all that, I would have rented with someone different who was closer!

Needless to say, at nine o'clock the night before the move, this was not when I wanted to find out I didn't have a truck. We did try to find another truck, but there was nothing available on such short notice, which should not have been a problem because I had made a reservation for a truck three weeks ago! We had to borrow a pick up truck and do the entire move of a three bedroom apartment with just one pick up truck.

Thank God that my husband is in the Navy and had some great friends that were able to loan us the truck AND work their butts off all day to get the move done. I still can't believe that we did it without a moving truck. We are in the Navy and move a lot and let me tell you, we will NEVER rent a truck from UHaul again and I tell everyone I know now to do the same.
