Direct Tv - Premier Communications
Jewelry stolen by installer, then $115 fee to cancel

Jewelry was stolen from our home while a Premier Communications tech was installing our Direct TV. The police were contacted, and the jewelry was found outside our home in a spot where the tech had hidden it. The tech did admit to stealing the jewelry and we pressed charges, only to later find out that he was a felon and on probation at the time of the install.

Premier Communications promised to call us the next day. That took at least two weeks, and I contacted him. There was no explanation as to how this could happen or how they were going to prevent it in the future. After several phone calls to Direct TV we finally canceled the service. Five times Direct TV said they were sorry and promised a call back from management, and five times I was blown off! They even tried to charge me $115 to cancel!

Our local news station did a report on it, and P. Comm. stated that he did have a background check and passed, until the reporter confronted him. Then he stated that his check hadn't come back yet. The tech called the station the next day and said that he put it on his application and that P. Comm. was lying.

When getting blown off by P. Comm. and Direct TV, how do you keep this from happening to somebody else, and how many other people had this happen to them before us? Glad he wasn't a rapist or pedophile! But if he was, P. Comm. wouldn't have known! Help! Watch out for yourselves!
