I took a job with Little Rapids Corp, after quitting a career that had a slow commission winter season with another employer. I was told during the interview that there was no overtime availible for new people, and this would be a long term position. Boy, was I lied too! This company is the worst company I have ever worked for... The management does not do anything with their new hires (ex. No training, no feedback sessions, no positive remarks). They worked me 7 days a week without time off, and with a 8 hour turn around from a 3rd shift to a 2nd shift (which equates to about 6 or less hours of sleep after travel time, family time, or other time).

I should have known that this was a bad place to work after my 2nd week, I found out that the girl that hired me had been terminated along with a few other key personnel. The new Human Resources personnel gave me alot of information about what plans they had for me, but it just didn't click. First off, they did not reimburse me for my work boots (I had talked to several other employees about this and they had indicated, "that the people that did not have work boots generally were reimbursed for their boots right away.") Second, I talk to the new Human Resources girl about rolling over my 401K, she indicated to me that, "they could not do this until I met my 90 day probationary period." (For all the employers I have ever worked for: work equiptment and 401K rollovers are a must right away-she indicated that because I was not part of the Union I could not rollover or be reimbursed-yet the Union Contract said nothing about this provision.)

Investment opportunities in 401K generally take a one year wait. WOW, why didn't I see this coming.
Last but not least, Little Rapids managment does not understand the roll of management. While employed for this company, serveral machine operator employees were given corrective action or written warnings for things that occured up to 1 year ago (even though they may have had a medical excuse or asked for a day off). This I could never make sense of except for the fact that the company was trying to keep a majority of their employees on task before the end of the year price increases that cause a significant flux of orders to appear out of nowhere during the months of November and December.

All together, I was released from employment 2 weeks prior to my 90 day probation from this company because I was not meeting the companies needs (example: fired in January after the heaviest flow of orders were completed, and orders in January were slim to none). All I have to say about this company is: "STAY AWAY!" they are no good and they do not care about their employees at all.
