Ripoff, misrepresentation of employment, unfair labor practices, discrimination in the workplace

I was hired in as a part time Security Officer and guaranteed 8 hours per week but was assured that there would be more hours available and that my position would lead to a full time position when a full time position became available.

Although I did receive some job training with individuals at the various posts, I was there for about a month before the management discovered that I had not had any formal training on the job. I was then scheduled for 12 hour shifts 3 days in a row. During this process a full time shift became available and I had expected to be offered that shift.

Instead, the management placed job orders with the Oregon Employment Services for a full time position on swing shift and another 8 hour part time position. When these people were hired my hours were cut back. When I asked about that I was told that I was only guaranteed 8 hours a week. When I asked about the full time positon and why it wasn't offered to me I was told that I wasn't ready. And that I had had more time to learn the job than the new employees but that they were ahead of me in training. That was a bold faced lie. I could handle any of the posts while the new hires were still asking questions.

I had heard that another full time guard had given his notice but the next day I was offered a 32 hour per week position by another company. When I called the Allied-Barton site Manager, J.T. Stachler and informed him that I had another offer and hoping that he would offer me the new full time position I was rudely told in an abusive manner "Why don't you go ahead, things haven't worked out here the way you wanted!"
