I hired Lehigh Moving for a long distance move from NYC to Savannah, GA. I chose them because their literature was well presented and established them as a company that had been around for 80 years.

Almost everything that was explained to me at the sales meeting was not delivered. The only thing they did get right was that they picked my things up when they said they would.

I was quoted an "all in" grand total of $4075.in the end, in order to get my things back, it cost me $5862 plus enormous stress.

The truck arrived 4 days later than promised. Every day when I called they told me it would arrive that day so I sat around for all those days, afraid to leave the house for fear of missing it.

When I was finally able to reach the driver of the truck he was rude and abusive. He claimed to not know who I was or even know where Savannah was. I was told that I would have to provide my own men to unload. Needless to say, it was part of my contract and in writing, that all items would be unloaded, brought into the house and placed where I wanted.

He arrived on Easter Sunday at 6pm. He would not open the door to the truck until I paid him. I refused and he got more abusive. He finally agreed to let me see inside the truck so I could at least tell if all my stuff was there.

He would not take my check (the contract stated I could pay by check) but only would take a credit card with a signed note that I would not charge back.

2 antique pieces of furniture were broken.

I would be most happy to learn this company was shut down. Although it has been in existence for 80 years, apparently the current owner is not from the original family. He is a criminal and a liar. No one should use them under any circumstances.
