Refuses to acknowledge returned merchandise even with UPS proof of delivery

A Sprint Cell Phone was returned within the time limit. I have furnished Sprint with United Parcel Service Proof of Delivery with the name of Sprint employee who signed for my return. Sprint has continued collection calls, sometimes two per day, for months. Their collection people acknowledge that my account shows the item was returned and the account was never activated.
Their latest action is to threaten to turn the account over to an outside collection agency.

No one person at Sprint will do anything to help solve this problem though I have been assured many times their fraud department would take care of the problem.

The amount of charges continues to increase even though the cell phone account was never activated.
