Ruskin Heights UHaul
Chris Overmann, Manager unauthorized use of debit / credit card

On December 8, I used by debit/credit card to rent a trailer and a storage unit (#1721) at Ruskin Heights UHaul for my daughter. My name was nowhere on the contract.

In May, I discovered my account was overdrawn. When I looked my account up online, to my surprise I found a $250 charge from Ruskin Heights UHaul to my debit card. I contacted U.S. Bank and informed the contact person that I had not authorized such a charge. The contact person told me that I had to let the charge go through, and then dispute it.

My daughter called Ruskin Heights Uhaul and was informed that the manager "knew it was illegal" but decided to try it anyway, just to get the money. When she talked to Chris Overmann, he told her that it was the district manager in Overland Park, Kansas, who actually did this. It was very questionable as my debit card # would have had to have been given to this district manager in order for it to be done, and the withdrawal from my bank clealy stated Ruskin Heights UHaul.

At any rate, my bank told me that I was to be credited the #250 and would be sent a letter with the results of their investigation. To date, I have received neither the money nor the letter.

On August 29, I was preparing bills and doing a bit of online banking. Much to my surprise, I find a negative balance of over $300. Once again, Ruskin Heights UHaul has illegally used my debit card to pay for a storage unit that is not mine - this time to the tune of $680.50. Please remember that I had just paid $250 in May for the back storage rent.

I immediately called and emailed my bank, but as yet have received no response. An email was also sent to Ruskin Heights UHaul, but there has been no response from them either.

Can criminal charges be pressed?
