Ripoff via account debits Las Vegas

In April I responded to an advertisement that would provide me with credit to use in the exclusive purchase of merchandise offered by the company, CCA. My account was debited $99 and I received a catalog filled with items that were of no value to me. I made no purchases.

However, an attempt to debit my account was made during the following year by CCA. I called and requested to cancel the account. I was told that all fees charged to my account were nonrefundable and that they would sent out another catalog and a discount of $75. I then put a stop payment against CCA with my bank. (The bank has a limit on how long they watch for stop payments, this I didn't know at the time - neither did I think it would matter) But in June another attempt was made to debit my account. Again I called CCA who advised me that my request to cancel would have to be in writing and received prior to the first of the month or else they would continue to debit my account indefinitely.

I then asked for the address to mail my written cancelation The address was withheld from me until I had listened to what outstanding financial obligations I may still have with this company in which I have paid for services and products in which I had not used or bought. Then I had to listen to many other offers that would cost me more money. After advising Agent G43220 many times that I was not interested in any offers that would cost me more money, she finally gave me the address, which by the way is a P.O. Box. My advise to many is if you a not dealing with a business in person, be sure that they can provide you with a physical address. A lot of lot of shady businesses will only provide P.O. Boxes and toll free numbers (this makes it more difficult to track them down). - be aware
