Thought I Was Alone in my UPS claim!

Hello,
Two years and two months ago I shipped about 18 various sized cartons to myself, from Kansas City, MO to Philadelphia, PA, where I was returning to live. I had a valuable print, expensively framed, worth $600.00, so I insured it. When my packages arrived in Philadelphia, there was minor damage in 3 or 4 of them, not worth reporting. When my print arrived, it was completely damaged beyond repair. The glass was broken, and shards of glass had scratched and torn holes in the print. An inspector came a few days after, and agreed that the piece had been properly packed, and that the carton, and several others, showed signs of excessive mistreatment. He ok'd the claim, and said I would get only $100.00 unless I could locate the artist, which I could not. So, a little over two years ago, UPS had all the info they needed from me. Nothing happened. I e-mailed them many times, each time doing whatever they asked me to do. I contacted them again on 2/27/02, and received a return e-mail which basically told me to do all the things I had already done. It had a rather smug tone about it, so I wrote them and told them that, as a customer, I had done everything I could do, and that it's in their hands, and that if I didn't receive a response, that I would contact someone at a higher level in Atlanta. Then I ran across this site that mirrored my own feelings of the "little guy" getting pushed around by Companies who think that because they are "big", they are unreproachable.
Who do they think helped make them "big"??? Customers... The same people they kick around later.
