A very long story short. We have dealt with Ace TV for over six years off and on. As soon as they were bought out by Aarons the problems began. We have had them attempt to gain entry to our house while my daughters were home alone, shouting that they knew we were there... One at the front door and one at the back door. We ended up calling the sheriff's department but there was nothing they could do.in another incident, a message was left saying that we were in possession of stolen property. Now, I admit we were not the best of customers (my husband had been layed off), and after those two incidents things settled down. They would come to our house to pick up our payments. Never was a receipt given or mailed (keep this in mind). Things were fine until Thanksgiving when we went out of town to visit family.

We informed the manager at the time that we were going out of town and would make our payment when we returned. The manager said that would be fine. Lo and behold, we come back and there's a message from Terry. We were behind and he demanded a call back. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told that he was no longer with the company and that he (Terry) was the new manager. Things went down hill from there. Money got tight and payments were made, not on time and eventually a deal was made and our washer/dryer and refrigerator are now paid off as of 2/28/05. Prior to the arrangement, we informed Terry that the washer was making a noise around the beginning of Feb. He said he would take care of it.

Next payment came around (2/15) and the automatically used my check card to deduct the payment (I had told them I would call when it was OK to do it they didn't). Washer is still making noise and nothing's been done at this point. After many calls, they said that they would send someone out to look at it on 2/21. My husband took off work that day. No one showed, no one called. The repair person showed about 2/24 and said it was a bearing. Nothing more was done and when the final payment came due on 2/28, I moved the $ out of the account. Terry called threatening me that I breached the agreement and I told him that I'd pay it but I want my washer fixed. The next day, 3/1, they picked it up. No one calls to give you a status report... You have to do that and they never know. They say you're harassing them when you do.

I finally got it back on 4/8. Guess what? It's not mine, it's dirty and there's electrical tape hanging out of the side of it. The serial number is not the same as what is on the contract. The numbers for the dryer purchased at the same time matches. The numbers for the refridgerator purchased approx a week prior matches. All of these were purchased prior to the Ace buy out. I've repeatedly asked for copies of my file and contracts for everything I've purchased. I get one excuse after another on why they can't/won't. I've asked for a print out of my payment history... Can't/won't. I don't believe that payments were applied correctly in the past (remember no receipts) and that is the reason for the "generous aggreement" for three $200 payments and it be considered paid in full. I'm now told that the bill from the first repair just came in yesterday and shows the s/n of the one I have now. Seems strange that (1) the bill shows over a month later and (2) the very next business day this "discrepancy" is brought to their attention. I believe they have fabricated it to cover their rears. They offered for me to come in and take a look at it, and I will but I guarantee I won't get a copy.
