Quoted one price and charged another, Lied about us to BBB, Rude and Unprofessional, DON'T TRUST THEM! Moving ripoff

We were quoted 96 an hour for three men. On the day of the move they sent 4 men and charged my husband 111 an hour for 5 hours (total 570) when the move actually only took 3 hours. My husband paid 580 cash and then wrote a $50 check as a tip for a total tip of $60. When I came home and realized how much they overcharged us, I put a stop payment on the check.

I called three times over the next two weeks before receiving a response. I was told that because the check didn't clear, we underpaid them (the movers spent the cash as their tip instead of waiting to cash the check we wrote for the tip)!!! In actuality they owe us $181. They have offered us $21 to settle. I have taken this up with the BBB, but wanted everyone else to be aware of their business practices as well.

To top it all off, they are rude and unprofessional. The owner refused to discuss it on the phone, said it was MY problem, and hung up on me when I said I would call the BBB. I just got the report back from the BBB. They lied on the report. They said when they came my husband talked them down in price from 116 to 111 an hour. That never even happened. They also said we paid 520 in cash. That also is a lie! My husband gave them 580 in cash!

Don't trust them! If you do decide to use their services, make sure they send you a written quote. And I've learned my lesson. I'll never pay for anything in cash again!
