Ripoff destroyed my watch and covered up the problem

Two years ago i needed a battery for my movado watch. One of the clerks named lodi (deceased) changed the battery. While changing the battery she was fighting/digging with the back of the watch which prompted my husband to comment " are you sure your using the correct tools" that was when my problems started.

Over the last two years every so ofter the watch would fog. We would bring it in to corinne jewelers and they would cheerfully put it under a light for a day and return the watch to me. Then after 5 times of doing this i felt the watch should go back to movado for them to anaylize the situation.

What movado found shocked me. Lodi destroyed the gasket and badly scratch the watch back. We brought this to the attention of mary the wife of the owner she told us it was too bad claiming that lodi was not trained to touch movado's and she was confidant lodi never touched my watch. Mary was not there so there is no way she would know the truth. When i told mary i was making this report she threatened that my watch may never work again/or it may just vanish. The corinne jewelers receipt says the goods i left (the watch) only had a value of $50.00.

I immediately sent a legal demand letter to movado detailing the threats and that my watch was not to go back to corinne jewelers. Thanks to movado they respected the legal demand and repaired the watch and sent it back to me directly. The repair was $174.50.

Corinne jewelers moto is "if you don't know your diamonds, know youe jeweler" we have know craig and mary for many years. My husband taught their children karate and toted them back and forth. If they will rip off a friend what do you think they would do to a stranger.
