Ripoff Dishonest & Fraudulant

I too saw an ad for "Extras" and thought I would check it out for fun. I called the 800 number and spoke to a representative. I told them I am not an actress and would just like to check it out for fun and maybe make a little money. I decided to sign up and gave them my credit card number for the $139.00 fee.

I was unable to get my pictures to them quickly, but once I finally sent the pictures, I called them to see if they had received them. They told me they had received the pictures and would be placing them on the website in a couple of business days. I was also told that my 30 day trial would begin from the date they received my pictures.

I received one email re: a Student Film that I was not qualified for, not being an actress, so I did not attempt to email my portfolio. I received a phone call shortly after receiving the email letting me know that my pictures had been put on the website and did I have any questions.

I told them that I had received one email and asked if I would be receiving more emails. I was told I would. It seemed pretty clear.

A month and a half later, I have heard nothing. I tried to call and ask for a refund but was told that the 30 day trial was over and I could not get a refund. I will admit I got a little beligerent with the person on the phone, but he was such a smart alec and so condescending I couldn't take it. He ended up hanging up on me.

So basically, they took my $139.00 and gave me nothing. The "Supervisor" I spoke to said that the $139.00 is for the cost of placing my portfolio on the website. I find that ridiculous because I set up the portfolio myself. All they did was upload my pictures.

Anyway, to make a long story short, stay away from Showtime Casting. They really are a bogus company that is basically just stealing money. We should all get together for a class action suit.
