Bad Check Fees Charged on Four Items Instead of One Payment

My credit union declined payment of a debit to Amazon.com stating account closed. It wasn't. I had plenty of money.
Then, in a few I received notice from TRS Recovery that I owed for 4 transactions and must pay fees on each items purchased, not the total amount. I refused.
I stated I would only pay one charge. I paid the fee on only the total amount.
Meanwhile TRS then called (?) Amazon who stated they would allow me to only paid two bad check charges.
Now I am billed for another amount for a item not covered (their words). Now I am paying the additional amount just to get rid of the whole thing.
