Ripoff of people with dreams

Around January 19, I contacted RMK Network after seeing a posting in the local newspaper. I spoke the owner of the company, by the name of Rob, who asked me to send him a recorded cassette of me reading two monologues, to include "a couple of snap shots" and to send it as soon as possible, which I did shortly after our first phone conversation.

Once he received the package with the material he had asked me for, he called me and mentioned how talented I was and how great my pictures looked, he also mentioned that he could get me catalog modeling auditions within 30-40 days after the "discounted amount" of $470 was paid, in his office. The money was to pay for the demo that, according to him cost $1,000 and he was going to have made to send out to his "clients" in order for me to get auditions.

I told him I would think about it. It seemed odd that he didn't have a website and that any information about the company, but I also thought that maybe that's how worked. He continued to call, to see "how I was doing" and didn't stop until he convinced me and I sent the money in full. After that I stopped hearing from him.

In May I called him back and he said that something was coming, to trust him and to wait for his call (and the same stories he told me the first time I spoke to him), at that point, I realized that I have been ripped off, so I counted it as a loss.in December 11 months later, I was advised to take action and so I decided to call him and ask for my money or the demo back and he became so upset that he insulted me by calling me out of my name and finished by hanging up the phone on me. Obviously he didn't want to hear my complaint.

I would like to advice all aspiring Artists that if anybody asks you to give them money in advance to help you out they are taking advantage of your dream. A real agent won't ask you for your money, because they make their percentage out of finding you work.
