Poor overall experience

My experience begins with a salesman that was very pushy to get our business. I should have known it was a scam when he told us that the deal was only good if we ordered on the same day he was there. I told him we would wait a few days, but he insisted that he call his supervisor to get us a better deal, another red flag I missed.
He called his supervisor and came back with another few hundred off the deal only if we agreed to buy from them that day. He showed us several carpets but did not have the one we wanted, so he went to his car and got another set of samples. They had very limited options and continued to push a type of certain type of carpet. We finally found something that we kind of wanted, but it was not as dark as we wanted. He assured us that it was a sample and was probably a bit lighter due to it being in the car and so on. We went ahead and did the deal and even upgraded to make sure nothing came up through the sub floor, again, of which he assured would not happen with the thick underlay.
On delivery day, the installers showed up late to the house and stayed late on a Saturday. Needless to say some of the furniture they moved was not in the same shape as it was before the moved it. The desk drawers did not line up properly anymore.
The salesman told us all about the great warranties and the great customer service, but it was all a deception. Consequently, a few weeks later, a few stains came up through the carpet. We were disgusted with what came up. I called Empire to inform them about this issue. The rep form Empire argued with me and continued to talk over me whenever I wanted to say something. She began to tell me what happened before I could finish my complaint. I asked to talk to her supervisor who was, of course, busy in a meeting and could not talk to me.
I let the rep know that a few stains had come up and we had nothing to do with them. One at the bottom of the stairs and one in the loft. Along with the stains, the glued pieces of carpet were very visible as if there was something under the carpet.
I finally was able to talk to someone after a few days only to get the same that I got form the first rep. She told me that they would send a carpet inspector out to check on the problem, but could only give me a vague window during the week. I express the difficulty of being available to be available due to work. I asked to have someone come out on the weekend, but she refused and told me they only inspect the issues during the week. I asked her if they would pay me for taking the day off and she got a bit upset. I again asked for someone to come out on the weekend like they did when they installed and again I was turned down.
This debacle continued with phone calls from one of their reps calling during work hours asking me to call them back. When I called back nobody seemed to be available. This went on for about a week and finally they no longer called me, even after I would leave them messages. Apparently they did not care enough to make contact.
Needless to say, I would not do business with this company again. I had several family members and friends in the market for flooring and I steered them clear away from Empire as I will continue to do for anyone that asks about this company. It saddens me that these companies continue their unfair practices with no consequences. So I am writing this review so that others don't make the same mistake I made.
