Awful collections practices

Most creditors wait until you are near or over 30 days on a bill before they call you. Not Chase. 4 or five days after the payment due date, they start calling several times a day to let you know you are late and to try and collect. Even after specifically asking them NOT to call my family members or in laws. I have had 3 different experiences of them placing collection calls to my wife's parents and my father in law (who is 75) at home for some reason, my loan has nothing to do with them and they are not listed as anyone to contact on my account, I never authorized them to contact my wife's family. These calls were also made before my account went 30 days late. There is no excuse for this.

Chase calls me at work even when I specifically ask them to take my work number off the account as a contact number. They tell me it will be removed, I give them my home number as the number to use, two months later, they are calling me at work again.

They charge a 20 dollar fee to pay by phone and will not waive it even if your payment is on time.

I have gotten 2 separate e mails from Chase's IT department that there were internal security breaches with the collections agents sending clients information out of the Chase system and to their own personal e mail address.

I recently got a notice that the e mail database was hacked / compromised and to beware of fake e mails appearing to be from Chase.

Chase Collections agents are usually rude, overly agressive, and will raise their voice first and actually yell at you even while you are calmly speaking to them.

Despite being a huge bank, Chase Home Finance has hands down the worst customer service people and practices of any company I have ever dealt with. Do not use Chase for your Home Equity Line or Mortgage if you can possibly avoid it.
