Questionable business practices

I received an unsolicited call from VPS about 1 year ago. At the time I didn't want to make any change in my timeshare ownership. Over the past year the sales persons has call several times.

I decided I was at the point I wanted to sell when VPS called again the week of 1/16. The sales person was very helpful and enthusiastic. She went thru all aspects of the sale price and recovering my maintainence fees and who covers the costs of title search, etc.

When all was said and done and I agreed to go thru with the process she asked how I would like to cover the $599.00.

I told her that I had no intention of paying them upfront to sell my property. I told her that I had spoken with the state of Florida and was told by the state that I should never pay upfront as this is a real estate sale. I was told that no legitamat company will attempt to collect a fee up front.

She became a bit angry and wanted to know who I spoke with at the State of Florida. She said that the state issues them their licenses. She that I would not be able to see my timeshare without paying the fee upfront.

She also told me that VPS had received no complaints and that they have been in business for 14 yrs and have never been investigated.
