Defective window over front doo

In our house completed in the arch window over the front door has experienced severe seal failure. Since this is the result of defective manufacturing practices used during that time period, I feel that they should replace the glass to rectify the situation. The seal failure began when the house was several years old although we didn't realize the cause at that time. Please advise on how to resolve this issue.
