Failure to honor guarantee

We built a new house and thought we were being wise to have a local company install the glass doors and windows. Emil Obermiller assured us the windows were the best available and that we would have a lifetime warranty and support. We had problems with the windows from the beginning. The installation was shoddy. They leaked wind and rain. Some screens had gaps large enough to let flies in. One window had an obvious flaw in the glass. We had specified metal screens, but some came with fiberglas screens.in a short time, one window cracked and four others had broken seals. It took three months to get the cracked window replaced. Barry Obermiller said they no longer did business with the manufacturer due to problems, leaving their customers on their own. After my repeated requests for assistance were ignored, after three months I became upset and threatened to sue. Barry Obermiller used that as an excuse to say he didn't want to do any further business with me and refused to assist with the warranty. I had to replace the defective windows myself. He told me if I didn't like the fiberglas screens, when aluminum was specified in the contract, to take them to Ace Hardware myself and get them changed. A sliding glass door is very difficult to open. Sliding screens, supposedly designed for a house in Nebraska, cannot withstand normal winds. Further attempts for correction of their installation problems just led to Barry telling others I was impossible to get along with. I did not have problems with any of the many other subcontractors on the house. Obermiller continues to advertise they have a lifetime warranty and service, but from my experience, that is false.
